MISSION STATEMENT
ABOUT OUR FOUNDER: Wings of Knowledge’s practices directly follow the precepts laid out by its founder, Trina Jones. Following is a brief bio of Ms. Jones.
As an 'A' student in high school (MacDuffie School for Girls - Springfield, MA), Trina Jones received many scholarship offers including a full scholarship to MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). Trina studied Electrical Engineering and later Finance at MIT. After 8 years of being a Financial Analyst for BellSouth and Coca-Cola, Ms. Jones left the corporate environment to start Wings of Knowledge. She wanted to make a difference in people's lives. Ms. Jones states, "I know the opportunities that good grades will afford you...and I want more children to have them!" She knows how to get great grades. That knowledge is passed down through the Soar to Success tutoring program at Wings of Knowledge Tutoring, Inc.. That's one reason the program is so successful.
After 10 years leading children to excellence at Wings of Knowledge, Trina Jones was featured on the ABC hit television show Wife Swap. She was selected from all local tutoring services to be the tutor for the Conyers family.
In 2006, Wings of Knowledge Tutoring was selected to tutor Dekalb Country truants over the summer. We were picked to help lead these students back to the path of education as an alternative to harsher, less productive punishments.
Since 1996, thousands of students have had the path of their education broadened by the work done at Wings of Knowledge. Trina’s work, though, is not limited, to Wings of Knowledge. Always interested in the welfare of students, she gives talks in the elementary, middle and high schools of the area. Her interest in test prep helps her guide students into the paths that enable them to ace the PSAT, SAT,CRCT and High School Graduation Test. Trina has even done SAT classes and given information at local churches. The opportunities available as a result of high PSAT scores and SAT scores drive her to push for more test prep for the students of the area. |
